BUSINESS MODELING

A close family friend used to say “You can mismanage a gold mine”. No matter how compelling an opportunity is for your business or how good a fit it is, a strong business model is the bedrock to your success. A well mapped business model can effectively front-load your project by detailing what your business needs to do to succeed and prompt important discussions on whether the company has the risk tolerance required for success and costly execution. This is the culmination of the work done on the Landscape and White Space projects.

Dream it.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to create something novel, a new way to deliver value. Whatever it is, the way you approach business innovation is very different then they way you approach invention.

Build it.

Innovation can happen along three dimensions:

Product, Process and Business Model.

Focusing only on product while ignoring the other two can result in untapped value potential and unintended consequences. Business Model Innovation especially in the digital age has become a critical dimension.

Grow it.

Driven by Design Thinking, Insights can be used to generate possible value-driven Business Models. For large companies with established businesses, this means breaking the dominate logic of working with “what we know”. For small and large businesses, it is value creation on multiple dimensions. Iterative cycles of build - test - revise.
